Expect Longer Wait Times in the Emergency Department

The HDH Emergency Department expects to have longer wait times this weekend due to many surrounding local emergency department closures. Please be kind and patient with our healthcare team during this time as we remain open to serve the patients of our community. Local closures mean added volumes and pressures for our entire hospital with the same amount of resources allotted to us. We are doing our best and will continue to provide exceptional care with a longer wait.
Please note that Emergency Departments DON’T run on a first-come, first-served basis. The triage process determines which patients need the most urgent care and prioritizes them accordingly. We encourage non-urgent patients to consider another alternative (family physician, virtual clinic, etc.) as longer than usual waits are expected. In a medical emergency, please call 911.
