Volunteering as a Hospital Board Governor
Hanover & District Hospital Board Governor Information Sheet
Hanover & District Hospital’s Board of Governors include a number of dedicated community residents. These Governors volunteer their time to provide governance to the hospital’s activities and offer expertise in a number of areas to support the hospital. Please think seriously of applying for a seat on the Board if you feel you can offer a skill set/ knowledge base in the following;
- Clinical insight;
- Construction;
- Legal;
- Information Technology;
- Research;
- Labour Relations; and/or
- Health Care Advocacy.
Applicants are invited to bring their skills, experience and enthusiasm necessary to serve on the Board of Governors by completing the application form. Interested applicants must;
- Meet eligibility requirements of the Corporation By-Laws;
- Be able to commit time to attend regular board and committee meetings;
- Have good communication skills and a broad financial understanding; and
- Should have a current level of active involvement in the community as a volunteer, or experience as a board member.
